Moving...What!?!?!

Well as usual I have not been on here in awhile. Sorry. I am truly going to make an effort to get on here more. Well to catch you up my Hubby and I are on the move again. This time we are following a job (my husbands) to Dallas, TX. I am super excited about the new adventure ahead of us and all the new opportunities we will have. I am in charge of getting us packed here in the next month and boy is that a job. I have realized that my husband and I definitely keep way to much stuff. I have a serious goal to be super organized for this move...and thanks to a few tips from Pinterest I am actually achieving that goal slowly.

I have been using tips from a pin that is linked to this website:   http://mesamovingtips.wordpress.com/2014/04/09/10-best-moving-tips-to-make-your-move-easier/

With my different colors of duck tape in hand and my moving guide that I made myself packing has been very organized!! Below you will see my moving guide that serves as a key for my box labeling. Since we have a little time between the day they are packed and the day we will actually open them this helps. If my husband or I need something that we already packed we can just look at our inventory and only open one box.

Not only are my boxes color coded they are also numbered. This narrows it down to one box versus 15 Living room boxes.

This process takes a few more minutes yes but it is totally worth it. In my notebook I gave each room 5 pages so that I have plenty of space. I have also put a tab that matches my duck tape for easy flipping purposes. In this guide I also have a a section called Moving plans...this section has lists of things that need to be done during the move. Changing our address with not only the post office but also credit cards, magazines, insurance, etc. I have also listed apartments and house we are looking to rent and all the details related to that. There is also a page with current apartment information and what is expected by them when you leave. I am also listing jobs that I have applied for so I can keep tabs on the results during all this chaos. Hopefully this will help you on your next move. Until next time...
