Moving...What!?!?!

Well as usual I have not been on here in awhile. Sorry. I am truly going to make an effort to get on here more. Well to catch you up my Hubby and I are on the move again. This time we are following a job (my husbands) to Dallas, TX. I am super excited about the new adventure ahead of us and all the new opportunities we will have. I am in charge of getting us packed here in the next month and boy is that a job. I have realized that my husband and I definitely keep way to much stuff. I have a serious goal to be super organized for this move...and thanks to a few tips from Pinterest I am actually achieving that goal slowly.

I have been using tips from a pin that is linked to this website:   http://mesamovingtips.wordpress.com/2014/04/09/10-best-moving-tips-to-make-your-move-easier/

With my different colors of duck tape in hand and my moving guide that I made myself packing has been very organized!! Below you will see my moving guide that serves as a key for my box labeling. Since we have a little time between the day they are packed and the day we will actually open them this helps. If my husband or I need something that we already packed we can just look at our inventory and only open one box.

Not only are my boxes color coded they are also numbered. This narrows it down to one box versus 15 Living room boxes.

This process takes a few more minutes yes but it is totally worth it. In my notebook I gave each room 5 pages so that I have plenty of space. I have also put a tab that matches my duck tape for easy flipping purposes. In this guide I also have a a section called Moving plans...this section has lists of things that need to be done during the move. Changing our address with not only the post office but also credit cards, magazines, insurance, etc. I have also listed apartments and house we are looking to rent and all the details related to that. There is also a page with current apartment information and what is expected by them when you leave. I am also listing jobs that I have applied for so I can keep tabs on the results during all this chaos. Hopefully this will help you on your next move. Until next time...

Back on Schedule

Well quite some time has passed since a last posted a blog. We have moved to Oklahoma and have kept very busy this summer and early fall. I am working from home for the time being. Skylar has started his new jobs and is enjoying the challenge they present. We have had visitors the past week and a half...my niece and nephew. We had to take home my nephew early because he was sick but my niece is hanging out. We have had a lot of fun visiting the sights around Oklahoma City. In adjusting to the craziness of having two kids with I have found the easier the food prep the better. So here is my quickie recipe of the day.

Easy Chicken Tacos

1 can chicken breast                               4 tablespoons Fajita Seasoning
6 taco shells or 8" flour tortillas                 shredded cheese
Optional toppings:
shredded lettuce                                        diced tomatoes
sour cream                                                Salsa

Drain 90% of the juice off the chicken. Mix in bowl chicken and fajita seasoning until well mixed. Heat in microwave for 2 minutes. Heat taco shells according to box instructions (you may want to heat flour tortillas for 30 seconds in microwave). Add seasoned chicken to your taco shell or tortilla. Then add cheese and any other toppings you would like. Enjoy!!

Ode to a Jellybean Pancake

Busy day so far and I am staying busy. After spending the morning with my niece and nephew I have decided to share with you a delicious treat for breakfast "Jelly Bean Pancakes".  Recipe to follow. I also was successful in transplanting 17 of my 18 plants that beautify my balcony and den. Including planting two flowers in teacup pots for my niece's 4th birthday party in two weeks. It's a tea party theme!!!  Planting tip: When planting with light potting soil such as Miracle Grow potting soil I recommend putting rocks or coffee filters in the bottom of the pot to help keep the soil from draining out with the excess water. Well I am off to make pasta for dinner...till tomorrow...enjoy the pancakes!!!

My First Day / My First Recipe

On this blog I will share my recipes and tips for making everyday life easier. Housewives are busy people whether we look like it or not. We tend to load our plate with volunteering, projects (that are always way bigger than we ever expect) and for some of us taking care of children or going  to school. I myself have no children at this point but have two playful cats that keep me entertained every day. My husband is a wonderful man that supports all my many endeavors and is the best friend a girl could have. I love spending time with my Lord and savior for without him I would have nothing! One of my favorite things is experimenting in the kitchen...I tend to have great success with most of my experiments and love to share them with my friends and family. Please let me know what you think should you decide to try one of my recipes. I love hearing success stories and hope my recipes and tips will help make your life easier!! Well I thought I should start this out right by giving you an amazing recipe that will leave you wanting more.
